Fremantlemedia Kids & Family announces appointment of Biplano as Key European Licensing Agent for new and classic Danger Mouse

FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) has today announced that it has appointed leading southern European licensing specialist Biplano as the licensing agent for both new and classic Danger Mouse in key European territories – France, Benelux, Iberia and Italy.

Biplano will take a two-tier approach to representing the effortlessly cool international secret agent, seeking out apparel and gift partners for the classic series of Danger Mouse, which currently airs on Netflix, and additional toys, games and publishing opportunities for the ratings-busting rebooted version of the show which also airs on Netflix and leading free-to-air channels in the regions including across Lagardere platforms in France and on other soon to be announced major broadcasters.  Biplano will work alongside Master Toy Partner, Jazwares’ appointed toy distribution partners in each region.

In addition to signing standard licensing partners Biplano will be also seek commercial promotional partnerships for the new version of Danger Mouse.

Danger Mouse blasted back to TV screens with a gadget-packed, gag-laden makeover in September 2015 and was an instant ratings and critical success. In the UK it was CBBC’s highest rated launch show in over two years and has consistently been a top 5 children’s show for children 4-15. The first series has rolled out on several major broadcasters around the world and made its debut on Netflix in North America, Latin America, Benelux the Nordics, Poland Italy and Japan in April.  In addition CBBC and FMK have recently announced that Danger Mouse’s mission has been extended to take in a second series, which will air in the UK in 2017 – ensuring the brand’s visibility for some time to come.

Danger Mouse is co-produced by CBBC and FremantleMedia Kids and Family and is animated by Boulder Media. FremantleMedia Kids & Family owns the global TV and licensing rights to the series.

Originally produced by Cosgrove Hall Films for Thames Television Danger Mouse ran on ITV from 1981 to 1992. The series also proved hugely popular overseas and was broadcast in over 80 territories worldwide including Australia, Germany and France and the USA.
