Planeta Junior has signed an agreement with IMPS and will manage the licensing programme for these iconic blue characters<\/h3>\n

Planeta Junior,<\/strong> a leading European children\u2019s and family entertainment company, will act as the licensing agent for IMPS<\/strong> property The Smurfs<\/strong> in Spain and Portugal.<\/p>\n

Planeta Junior will manage all IP consumer products for both the classic brand targeting millennial audiences, and the new animated films and series causing a sensation with young viewers.<\/p>\n

Based on the world and universe created by Belgian comic artist Peyo in 1958, the recent films (CGI animation and live action) and the TV series set to launch globally in 2021 have made this legendary brand now more alive than ever.<\/p>\n

On the 60th anniversary of the Smurfs\u2019 birth, their values of tolerance, friendship, fun and respect for nature are as relevant as ever, and fully-aligned with contemporary lifestyles. These delightful creatures are known for their original and diverse characters and for their ability to work together regardless of differences that, contrary to what you might expect, always help them achieve their shared objectives.<\/p>\n

The little blue characters were appointed to defend their values by starring in the UN\u2019s 17 Sustainable Development Goals campaign<\/strong>, which was signed in 2015. This year they are raising young people\u2019s awareness of the need to protect our seas and oceans.<\/p>\n

The new CGI animation TV series<\/strong> targets 5 – 10 year olds and comprises 52 x 11 minute episodes, set to launch globally in 2021. It will feature all of the elements that made the Smurfs<\/em> iconic: comedy, adventure, action, pace and quick-fire dialogue.<\/p>\n

The Smurfs<\/em> are adorable little blue creatures with unique personalities and big values who solve problems on a daily basis with wisdom and teamwork.<\/p>\n
