{"id":17976,"date":"2019-08-28T17:52:48","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T15:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.licensingitalia.it\/?p=17976"},"modified":"2019-08-28T17:52:48","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T15:52:48","slug":"national-geographic-and-clarks-announce-special-footwear-range-inspired-by-moon-landing-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.licensingitalia.it\/en\/national-geographic-and-clarks-announce-special-footwear-range-inspired-by-moon-landing-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"National Geographic and Clarks announce special footwear range inspired by Moon Landing Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Limited edition range using recycled and sustainable materials launched at retail and online on 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of moon landing<\/h3>\n<p><strong>National Geographic and Clarks<\/strong>, one of the world\u2019s leading names in footwear, which earlier this year launched the Clarks Kids X National Geographic footwear range, have announced a special extension to the range.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrating the official 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon on 20 July<\/strong>, the partnership has added a limited-edition space-themed collection for kids and toddlers to the Clarks Kids x National Geographic range.<\/p>\n<p>Two new shoes \u2013 Ath Geo and Scape Sonar \u2013 have been badged and coloured in <strong>three styles to celebrate three planets and three themes<\/strong>: The Moon Landing 1969 (orange), Earth Focus 2019 (silver) and Mars Mission 2033 (black).<\/p>\n<p>Comfort and sustainability are again a major feature of this collection. Flexible, lightweight soles let little explorers\u2019 feet move naturally, and, in a small step towards future-forward styling, 50% recycled polyester is used in the shoe linings, and 70% of the Strobel construction of each shoe is recycled too.<\/p>\n<p>In further pursuit of a sustainable planet, <strong>the one-piece shoe box is 100% recyclable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The new line, available in Clarks stores throughout the UK and Ireland as well as online at clarks.co.uk, was <strong>launched<\/strong> \u2013 of course \u2013 <strong>on 20 July<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This launch follows the arrival earlier this year of the first Clarks Kids x National Geographic collection, a colourful, stylish and striking collection with designs inspired by some of the most amazing species on the planet. Again tying in with National Geographic\u2019s strong focus on sustainability, 16 pairs of the shoes in the collection are made from 100% recycled bottles, using recycled cardboard and natural vegetable dye for the packaging.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Helena Mansell-Stopher, Director Consumer Products, Publishing and Retail, National Geographic Partners UK<\/strong>, said: &#8220;This stylish extension to a wonderful, eco-friendly collection is perfectly timed and positioned to capture the thrill of the greatest moment in space exploration \u2013 and to encourage young people to dream of great space adventures still to come!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This launch is part of a global, multi-year partnership between Clarks and National Geographic.
