From May 31st to June 4th, 2023, the city overlooking the <strong>Adriatic Sea<\/strong> will host the 27th edition of the event promoted by <strong>Rai<\/strong> and organized by <strong>Rai Com<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>theme of the year<\/strong> will be \u201c<strong>Real, Unreal, Virtual.<\/strong> Imagined worlds and imaginary worlds. Between utopia, opportunity, and alienation. The suspension of technological disbelief&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the Festival, directed by <strong>Roberto Genovesi,<\/strong> will assign <strong>three new Pulcinella Awards<\/strong> that look to the future and the innovation of the industry: the Transmedia Award, the Meta Award, and the Arlecchino Award. The <strong>Transmedia Award<\/strong> is assigned to the brand able to lead the audience on multiple platforms thanks to powerful storytelling. The <strong>Meta Award<\/strong> is assigned to the brand able to immerse the spectator into a fascinating, stimulating, and safe digital world. The <strong>Arlecchino Award<\/strong> will be given to the creative product able to communicate best to the target audience the complex topic of <strong>gender diversity<\/strong><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Call for Entries<\/strong> will be open from February 1st to March 31st. The Festival also introduces a new category dedicated to kids aged 11+: Youth TV Shows. This new category will be added to the competition categories dedicated to Preschool TV Shows (2-4 yo), Upper Preschool TV Shows (4-6 yo), Kids TV Shows (7-11 yo), Youth Tv Shows (11+ years), Interactive Animation, Live Action and Hybrid Shows, TV Pilots, Short Films and Animated Features.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The last edition counted 360 titles submitted, over 1000 industry professionals accredited to the event, more than 5000 participants to the shows, and thousands of students attending screenings and previews. &#8220;Cartoons On The Bay&#8221; aims to surpass these numbers with the 2023 edition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cCartoons On The Bay \u2013 International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts\u201d returns to Pescara (Abruzzo Region, Italy) after the past edition&#8217;s success.
