New Bulldog representations greeted enthusiastically at BLE

Kindi Kids, Bulldog Tools, Power Players and Zafari offer strong licensee opportunities

Bulldog Licensing has hit the ground running with its newest representations – Kindi Kids, Bulldog Tools, Power Players and Zafari – all of which played a strong part in discussions with potential licensees at this year’s BLE.

Meet the Kindi Kids, the ground breaking preschool property launched this Summer from Moose Toys. The Kindi Kids are four quirky and colourful bobblehead dolls with magical accessories that move and come alive, sparking imaginative play, whilst guiding young girls(kids) on their journey to kindergarten. Bringing a fresh and innovative spin on traditional doll play, the super-cute 10-inch-tall dolls, who are aimed at 3-5 year old kids, have big glittery eyes, removable clothes and shoes and bobbly heads! The world of Kindi Kids, Rainbow Kindi, has come alive with original content on YouTube. The episodes are filled with music, where viewers can get to know the Kindi Kids and join their adventures, including the first day of kindergarten and making new friends.

Completely different, but enjoying almost legendary status among its target audience is Bulldog Tools, one of the UK’s oldest and best-loved brands of tools. Widely stocked throughout the UK, Bulldog’s range of tools is popular among both the amateur gardener and the professional trades, offering major opportunities to expand the range into numerous new areas include garden clothing, protective equipment, outdoors and lifestyle gifts and accessories, and gardening and work-related tools.

Power Players, from kid’s entertainment specialist ZAG, is a 78×11’ action comedy about super-powered characters hiding in plain sight as toys, led by Axel, a human boy who joins the smart toy world he is partly responsible for creating. Courage, comedy and amazing visuals come together in an action-packed show full of engaging characters that is launching soon across a number of broadcasters accompanied a colourful style guide that has already inspired a toy line and, judging from the early response, is about to inspire more licensing categories soon.

The stunning animation series ZAFARI tells the story of a group of unique animals mystically born with the skin of other animals who live in a magical valley near Mount Kilimanjaro; the series is produced by ZAFARI Holdings and distributed worldwide by NBCUniversal/Dreamworks. The show takes up themes such as celebrating differences, inclusion and friendship through funny and exciting stories, amazing characters and high-quality production values, which have huge relevance in today’s world and have attracted strong licensee interest. ZAFARI has already enjoyed a strong reception in France, Latin America, Canada, Italy and the UK and is continuously launching in other territories. Broadcasters are convinced as well: with series one (26 x 11’) still rolling out, series two is following soon and series three is already in production.

Bulldog Licensing MD Rob Corney says: “These four properties are new arrivals to our portfolio but occupied a lot of space in our BLE meeting diaries. That was no surprise: while all four brands are very different, they enjoy a strong identity and a clear appeal to a defined target audience – and of course licensees! We’re expecting great things from all of them!”
