AS Roma

AS Roma is a professional Italian football club based in Rome.

Founded through a merger in 1927, AS Roma has competed in Italy’s top football division, Serie A, for its entire existence, except for the 1951-52 season.

Since 1953, Roma has played its home matches at the Stadio Olimpico, a venue it shares with city rival SS Lazio. With a capacity of over 68,000 seats, it is the second-largest stadium in Italy, with only San Siro able to accommodate more spectators.

In August 2020, the club’s ownership changed as the Friedkin Group completed the acquisition. Dan Friedkin became the club’s 25th president, committing to implementing an “ambitious and disciplined business plan” in the Italian capital.

The men’s team won the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022 and reached the UEFA Europa League final in 2023.

The women’s team won the Serie A title in the 2022-23 season, the first in the club’s history.
