Las Vegas Licensing Expo 2017, May 23th-25th
Licensing Italia has interviewed Jessica Blu, Senior Vice President, Licensing UBM, on the upcoming Las Vegas Licensing Expo (May, 23th-25th)
L.I. What are the basic elements of the enduring success of Las Vegas Licensing Expo?
J.B. For 37 years Licensing Expo has been the key to connecting the worlds’ entertainment, character, fashion, art and corporate brand owners with consumer goods manufacturers, licensees and retailers. Each year there’s something unique and new on the show floor. Attendees come to spot new trends and find out which brands and characters consumers will be demanding during the next 18–24 months. The UK is the number two market for licensed products in the world and is the second largest group to attend Licensing Expo. All of the UK attendees that come to Licensing Expo also attend our sister show, BLE in London. The reason they come to Licensing Expo as well is because there are 310 exhibitors and more than 1,000 brands that are only showcased in Las Vegas.
L.I. What are the most important features of Las Vegas Licensing Expo?
J.B. For 2017, Licensing Expo will have a completely new look and feel along with the launching the new concept of Licensing Week. The new offerings include a full slate of business-building opportunities for attendees and exhibitors that are designed to enable licensing professionals to take full advantage of their time in Las Vegas.
L.I. Which are the most important novelties that distinguished the 2017 Las Vegas Licensing Expo?
J.B. This year Licensing Expo will have a completely new look and feel with the launch of Licensing Week. Licensing Week acknowledges the many licensing events going on in and around the show such as the Opening Keynote featuring Cole Gahagan, Chief Commercial Officer of Fanatics Inc. (free to all Expo attendees); An Orientation Session; Licensing University; the Matchmaking Service; Opening Night Party; Art & Design Mixer; Agents’ Business Forum; the annual LIMA International Licensing Awards and the Women in Toys Breakfast, among many others!
