Smiley showcases licensing opportunities for new kids tv series

This aspirational kids TV show that targets the upper pre-school audience and highlights today’s major trend for happiness will also provide a unique opportunity to help kids understand the diverse range of emotions they will encounter in life, whilst always emphasising on the positive.

Smiley Kids will create a platform for Smiley to become the first global brand to open pre-school kids to the concept of emotional Intelligence (EQ) through a variety of multi-media platforms and licensing opportunities that will include TV, digital, toys and publishing.

This exciting show boasts a stellar team that includes production by OuiDO! Productions (ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks, Monchhichi, Sonic Boom), exclusive distribution through PGS (Iron Man, Playmobil, Le Petit Prince) and editorial by Theresa Plummer-Andrews, former Head of Acquisitions, Animation and Co-Productions for CBBC and CBeebies.

Smiley are also partnering on this project with Dacher Keltner, who is an expert in the field of emotional intelligence and a professor of psychology at the University of California and is most famous for his best-selling books “Born to Be Good” and “The Science of a Meaningful Life”.

Although the TV show is currently in pre-production and not due to broadcast until 2017, the series already has major momentum with leading broadcasters in over 100 countries already in discussions before the project is officially launched to trade.
