Squeeze: Canadian TV series attracts French broadcaster CANAL+

Starting in Fall 2016, the 52 one-minute episodes will make kids laugh across France, but also in about 50 territories including Monaco, Andorra, Switzerland, Mauritius, and Africa. This agreement brings to 160 the number of countries and territories that will discover the colourful animated TV series.

Created and produced by Squeeze in Québec City, Canada, Cracké is a universal 3D animated slapstick comedy series starring Ed, an anxious ostrich dad, and his beloved brood. With the good intention to protect his eight eggs, Ed will cause trouble and threats, never missing an opportunity to make things worse for himself.
“It’s a real honour for Squeeze to see our TV series being welcome in a country with such a rich film and TV culture,” says Denis Doré, president and co-founder at Squeeze. “Québec and France have always been close, especially when it comes to humour! This collaboration shows once again that the talent made in Québec has a tremendous potential to cross the borders.”

In Canada, Cracké is now broadcast on Teletoon. The franchise also comes to life through a mobile video game (Cracké Rush). A second season is already under way for the TV series.

Cracké was produced in Canada in collaboration with Teletoon, the Canada Media Fund, the Quebec Refundable Tax Credit for Film and Television Production (managed by SODEC), the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC) – CAVCO, the Bell Fund, and the National Bank. Cracké’s growth and commercialization plan is made possible with the financial support of Québec City’s economic development strategy.
