THE ISAAC HAYES ESTATE AND BEANSTALK DIG THEIR NEW GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP

The Isaac Hayes Estate has signed an exclusive representation agreement with Beanstalk, a global licensing agency headquartered in New York. Isaac Hayes, arguably one of most important singer-songwriters of this past century, is known for his virtuosic body of work as an American soul singer, songwriter, actor, producer and voice artist.

As one of the creative minds behind the southern soul music label, Stax Records, Hayes was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for writing iconic songs for himself, Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas and many others. Hayes’ hit song “Soul Man” was recognized as one of the most influential songs of the past 50 years by the Grammy Hall of Fame and his music score for the film Shaft (1971) won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1972, making him the third African-American to win an Academy Award. Hayes also won three additional Grammy Awards throughout his prolific career, one for his legendary music album Black Moses.

Famous for his deep, baritone voice, the icon forayed into acting – from major motion pictures such as Truck Turner to voicing the character Chef on the animated television series South Park for ten seasons.
The singer’s namesake son, Isaac Hayes III, commented, “We were introduced to Beanstalk and the amazing work they do two years ago. With the addition of their Icon Representation business, they approached us about partnering to expand and develop opportunities for Isaac’s brand and we can dig it!”

“Isaac Hayes had a legendary and multi-faceted career as a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and voice artist,” said Martin Cribbs, VP, Brand Management of Beanstalk’s Icon Representation service. “From the smash hit, Soul Man, in the late 60s, to his complex and beautiful music for Shaft in the 70s, to his voice work as ‘Chef’ on Soul Park in the 2000s, Hayes’ imprint on pop culture, music, and fashion has been deep and enriched us all.”  Hayes’ contemporary relevance is evidenced by licensed samplings of his music in Beyoncé’s “6 Inch” from her platinum album Lemonade and Alessia Cara’s double-platinum single “Here”.

Beanstalk will represent the personality rights of the icon for use in advertising, media, and long-term brand associations.
